Today in America, 1 out of every 9 individuals works in sales. And according to author and TED Talk phenomenon Dan Pink, so do the other eight. Like it or not, we are all in sales – whether we know it or not. When your Member is expounding on the benefits of a certain position, or you are pitching a new idea to colleagues – even in interactions with family – we all spend our days to trying to move others. In the words of Dan Pink, everyone is in the "moving business."

In this program and in his provocative new book, "To Sell is Human: The Surprising Truth About Moving Others," Dan Pink takes a fresh look at the art and science of sales. Participants will:

  • Learn the three human qualities and four surprising skills that are instrumental in moving others;
  • Gain insight into the science behind this counterintuitive new approach to persuasion;
  • Come away with tools for implementing these ideas and strategies both at work and at home.

This program is open to:

House and Senate staff only, in the following positions:

  • Communications Directors;
  • Committee and Subcommittee Staff Directors; and
