This briefing will discuss ways congressional offices can improve their online communications with constituents, with special attention focused on learning from the policies and practices of award-winning staffers.

Best Practices in Congressional Websites and Social Media


9:30-10:30 a.m. – Websites

10:30-11:30 a.m. – Social Media


This program will consist of two panels. Each panel will include a short CMF presentation followed by a Q&A with staffers from award-winning offices. The first panel will be on congressional websites and held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The second panel will be on social media and held from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Who Should Attend

Any House or Senate staffer interested in learning how to improve communications with constituents through more effective websites and use of social media.

This program is open to congressional staff only.

About the Awards

CMF's evaluations of congressional websites for the 113th Congress were conducted last fall, and the award recipients were announced on April 28. This year marks the first time that CMF has recognized Members for specific citizen engagement practices on social media.
