Educational Programs for Grassroots Advocates

Making Your Communications Stand Out From the Crowd

apples_orangeThe Partnership For A More Perfect Union offers educational programs on how to best communicate with Capitol Hill as a benefit of membership. Based on more than a decade of extensive CMF research, programs offered include in-person presentations, webinars, and videos.

All programs have been created with your membership in mind and can be presented at two audience levels:

  • Citizen Advocate (Beginner): This content is introductory in nature, or with a focus on advocacy from the constituent point-of-view.
  • Professional Advocate (Advanced): This content is best suited for grassroots leaders, who may engage with elected officials more than once a year, or grassroots professions, who may be responsible for developing advocacy strategies.

Tailored to your organization's or client's needs, the presentations can be customized with information such as:

  • The best and worst methods for communicating with Capitol Hill;
  • Which campaigns get noticed by congressional staff and why;
  • Which messages receive responses and which are ignored;
  • When to send messages to be part of the decision-making process; and
  • The difference between making noise and having an impact.
