A new survey of senior congressional staff raises questions as to whether the Congress has the resources and capacity to meet the challenges facing the nation. CMF released a report today that captures senior staff perspectives on the functioning of Congress, finding that Congress, tasked with addressing some of our society's greatest challenges, is struggling to perform its integral role in American democracy. Congressional Management Foundation Receives Grants to Operate and Innovate

Democracy Fund will support CMF's efforts to help House and Senate offices transform their operations to better meet the needs and expectations of an Information Age citizenry. New Report Outlines How Congress and Citizens Interact on Social Media

A new survey of congressional staff shows that a relatively few number of constituents can get through to their Members of Congress on social media, possibly influencing lawmakers’ decision-making. A new CMF report indicates 80% of staff surveyed said 30 or fewer responses to their social media posts are enough to get the office to “pay attention.” But the survey also indicates that staff tend to review only those reactions posted within the first 24 hours.
