Stress is always a factor in Congress. But lately, things seem to be getting worse. Whether it's due to the crush of legislative work, the worry about an upcoming election, or just a hangover from the government shutdown, employees on Capitol Hill are increasingly showing signs of stress.

As office leaders, Chiefs of Staff have both the responsibility and the ability to address stress in their staff. This 90-minute program, offered in collaboration with the House Chiefs of Staff Association, will focus on:

  • How to spot signs of stress in staff
  • What a 4th Century BC Chinese military general and author to tell us about wow NOT to respond to increased stress
  • 3 strategies for managing work overload
  • Options for reducing burnout in offices

This program is open to:

  • House Chiefs of Staff
  • House Deputy Chiefs of Staff
  • House Committee Staff Directors
