Event Details

After every election CMF conducts training sessions for senior staff during the week that the House Members-elect receive their official orientation. Working in conjunction with the House Chiefs of Staff Association and the Committee on House Administration, we provide these senior aides with the guidance necessary to set up and run a House office.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Managing the first 90 days,
  • Staffing the office,
  • Developing a first-year office budget,
  • And discussing ways to engage constituents through websites, mail systems and social media.

CMF also provides a year-round resource to new Members of Congress with our "New Member Resource Center." This page contains information for setting up an office and hiring, as well as technology/communications and other legislative resources.
