WASHINGTON – The Congressional Management Foundation (CMF) announced today that Susie Gorden will be its new Vice President. In this position, Susie will be responsible for the internal management of the organization, oversee special projects, and conduct outreach with congressional offices and key stakeholders.

“Having worked with Susie in a previous position, I know her to be energetic, thoughtful, and creative,” said CMF CEO and President Bradford Fitch. "Susie brings to CMF a great combination of experience in Congress, the nonprofit community, and working with key congressional stakeholders." "She's a great addition to our team,” said former Congressman Dan Mica, Chairman of CMF’s Board of Directors.

Susie is a former House Legislative Assistant, has worked in the nonprofit sector for organizations small and large, and spent three years as a liaison to Congress working at Capitol Advantage (now part of CQ Roll Call). In that latter capacity, Susie interacted with dozens of congressional offices to improve constituent communications and citizen engagement. Most recently, she was the Policy Director for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America where she successfully secured increased funding to ensure more quality mentoring relationships for America's at-risk youth and developed a grassroots framework to coordinate the efforts of the organization's 300+ agencies.

She was also selected by her peers to chair the Washington Group of the National Collaboration for Youth, which provides a unified voice for over 50 national nonprofits working to better conditions for America's youth. While at the Center for Environmental Citizenship, she created the Environmental Academy – securing partnerships with National Public Radio, the Washington City Paper and Washington Post to provide 162 high school and college students direct experience producing environmental content.

Founded in 1977, the Congressional Management Foundation (CMF) is a 501(c)(3) nonpartisan nonprofit dedicated to helping Congress and its Members meet the evolving needs and expectations of an engaged and informed 21st century citizenry. Its work focuses on improving congressional operations and enhancing citizen engagement through research, publications, training, and management services.
