The Partnership for a More Perfect Union

In modern democracy, millions of Americans exercise their Constitutional right "to petition the Government for a redress of grievances" by contacting Congress through grassroots advocacy. To help grassroots organizers at associations, nonprofits, and companies to educate their advocates, CMF created the Partnership for a More Perfect Union.

Launched in 2010, the Partnership is the only private, subscriber-only research and training program focused on helping advocacy groups build better relationships with Congress. Informed by its research, CMF produces exclusive resources, events, and training for its partners.

Principle 6: Congressional Engagement Should Promote Accessibility for All

When our tools for engaging with Congress rely mostly or exclusively on the internet, we leave out voices that need to be represented in public policy. The key is to facilitate the broadest possible inclusion. Modern methods of engagement should strive to ensure that all have equal voice in Congress, regardless of status, wealth, ability, distance, broadband access, ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other dimension of difference.
